TERMS

The fine print, spelled out.

A plain-English summary of how it works to hire me. Every actual engagement is covered by a separate signed contract — this page just gives you a heads-up on what's in it. Last updated August 2026.

Who this is between

“eloi” means me — the independent freelancer running eloi.works. “You” or “Client” means anyone hiring me for a project, retainer, or hourly work.

What I offer

  • Fixed-scope projects — landing pages, marketing sites, custom WordPress, Shopify stores, web apps / MVPs, or larger custom products. Fixed price after the design phase.
  • Monthly retainers — reserved capacity (20 / 30 / 40 hrs per month), embedded with your team.
  • Hourly / contractor — short-term work, ad-hoc dev, plugging into an existing team.
  • Care & Host — ongoing hosting + maintenance + small tweaks.
  • Specialist services — VAPT audits, GoHighLevel setup, marketing automation flows, DNS migration, SEO audits.

See the Work with me section for current pricing.

How pricing works

  • Prices shown on the site are starting rates. Add-ons are transparent and priced up-front (see the knowledge base or ask in the chat).
  • For fixed-price projects, the final quote is agreed in writing after the design phase and won't change unless scope changes (which will be quoted before I proceed).
  • PH clients bill in PHP; international clients bill in USD via Wise / Stripe / PayPal / direct wire.
  • Payment terms: 50% deposit to start, 50% on launch for projects. Retainers billed monthly, net-7.

Timelines

Estimated timelines are on the packages page. I aim to hit them. If something slips on my side, I'll tell you early with the reason. If it slips on your side (delayed feedback, missing assets), we adjust the target together — no surprise late fees.

Deliverables + who owns what

On final payment, all right, title, and interest in the work I produce transfers to you. That includes:

  • Source code (Git repo access transferred, or clone + hand over)
  • Editable Figma files
  • Design assets, illustrations, custom icons I made for you
  • Written copy I wrote for you
  • Admin credentials, domain access, third-party service ownership

I keep one right: to reference the finished project in my portfolio and case studies. If your project is sensitive, I'll respect an NDA and skip the portfolio mention — say so before we start.

I don't retain backdoors, hidden monitoring, or any “we host it for you or it breaks” lock-in. You get everything you need to walk away.

Revisions + scope changes

  • Each project package includes a set number of revision rounds (usually 1–3, depending on tier — spelled out in your contract).
  • Extra revisions beyond that: billed at hourly rate.
  • Scope additions (“can we also add X?”) are quoted in writing before I start. No stealth billing.

Cancellation + refunds

  • Projects: if you cancel after the design phase but before build, I refund 50% of the design deposit (design work delivered is yours to keep). If you cancel mid-build, work already completed is billed pro-rata, remaining deposit refunded.
  • Retainers: month-to-month, no lock-in. Cancel with 15 days notice before the next billing cycle. No cancellation fee.
  • Care & Host: cancel any month, 15 days notice. Hosting continues through the paid period.
  • Refunds: processed within 14 days via your original payment method.

Confidentiality + NDAs

I'm happy to sign an NDA before we discuss anything specific about your product. I don't share client details with other clients, and I don't use one client's code in another client's project (except for generic patterns I've written myself).

What I won't take on

  • Design-only or dev-only “throw it over the wall” gigs — I only take end-to-end work.
  • Fixed-price without a design phase.
  • Crypto / web3 speculation projects.
  • Anything that requires compromising quality to hit a tight deadline.
  • Ghost work I can't reference in my portfolio (unless we've negotiated an NDA carve-out up front).

Warranties + support

  • Every project includes 2 weeks of post-launch bug fixes free (bug = something I built that's broken, not new features).
  • Beyond that: hourly rate or a Care & Host retainer.
  • I don't warrant that the software will be defect-free forever, work with every browser / device that exists, or drive specific business outcomes. I do warrant that the work meets the agreed spec.

Liability

Total liability under any engagement is capped at the fees you've paid me under that engagement in the 12 months preceding the issue. I'm not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages (lost profits, business interruption, etc.).

Governing law

Contracts default to the laws of the Republic of the Philippines. For international clients, we can agree to a different governing law in the individual contract if you have a preference.

Changes to these terms

I update this page when how I work changes. Anything material gets flagged before your next engagement — existing signed contracts aren't affected retroactively.

Contact

Ping me in the chat bubble at the bottom-right of any page. Response within a business day.

This is a plain-English summary of how I work — not the actual contract, and not legal advice. Every engagement is covered by a separate signed agreement. If you're unsure, ask before you sign.
